4.2  The Multi pseudo management interface

Multi-pseudo, also called Fake Pseudo or Multinicks, are used to identify a member who uses several nicknames.

You can access the multi-pseudo management interface in various ways. There is a link in the Moderation interface and there is an icon to the right of every message of the target member when you are reading a thread.

Multinicks being associated to one person, this user cannot use them to vote several times in a poll for example.

The moderation interface allows you to see the list of multinicks as well as the member who created them (the one at the top of the list). You can also verify that the multinick is associated to the right person: two members posting from the same computer may want to be disassociated in order for each of them to be able to vote during a poll.

In case a member should be sanctioned, you need to keep in mind that any sanctions associated to the main nickname will also be associated to the multi pseudos. However, you can sanction a multi pseudo and choose to spare the main nickname

For example, in the table below, the main nickname is “EchoCedric". You can forbid EchoCedric to use the multinick Zorro by sanctioning Zorro; this user will still be able to participate to the forum by using EchoCedric. However if you decide to ban EchoCedric, all associated multinicks will inherit this sanction and the member will not be able to use any of the detected multinicks to participate to the forum

In the screenshot below “Zorro”, “mdtest” and “c’est super” have been disassociated (only available for administrators)

Super administrators can also manually associate two nicknames by checking their respective box.

4.2.1  Manually enter a Multi pseudo

You might know about a multi pseudo that has not been detected by the forum. In this case, administrators and super administrators can manually enter those multipseudo in the proper field.
