Smileys are small images that you can insert in a message body in
order to share a particular feeling (happy
, vexed
, faking to be hurt
,
...)
There are two types of smileys. Some are official and will never change. Some are added by the users themselves and can be re-used in the future.
The full list of official smileys can be found on the " smilies.php" page
To insert the smiley
, all you need to do
is to type the code :)

Personal smileys are those who have been added to the forum by members. Indeed, you may want to add your own images in your messages and especially to integrate those new smileys with the default ones. However, to insert a personal smiley in the body of a message, the process is a bit different. The syntax looks like: [pseudo] or [pseudo:number] (pseudo being the name of the forum member who added the smiley.
Examples : - [:bobo] refers to the main smiley of the user named Bobo - [:bobo:3] refers to the third personal smiley added by Bobo.
There are several ways to insert those smileys to your message. The first method is to learn their code. Obviously, this is not the easiest one. However, you may also add personal smileys among the default ones in the panel displayed on the left of the message field:

To add a smiley as a favourite for future use, click on the List button of the personal smileys to get to the field that contains all personal smileys. Enter the code of the smiley of your choice and validate. it will then be part of your favourite list.
You can also make a search for keywords

You do not need to enter the code of the smiley by yourself. Simply click on the smiley of your choice to automatically insert the code in the panel.
Smileys that have been added will not appear instantly. This is to avoid a page refreshment that might result in you losing the text message that you have just entered. You can also manage your favourite smileys by going to your profile in the Image Management section by following the link Add Favourite Smileys.
To insert your own personal smileys, you will need to go to your profile page in the Image Management section by following the link Manage Personal Smileys.
